We met at Dylan’s work in 2016. After spending a few hours together that day, we went on our first date a little later that week and we were inseparable since!
Dylan knew Jessica was the one because she makes me feel completely fulfilled. She is the most supportive and loving partner. Jessica knew Dylan was the one because he didn’t expect anything from me except for me to be myself. He was unapologetically himself as well. He made me feel so important, comforted, loved and cherished and that love has never wavered. It truly was an instant connection.
WHAT ARE YOUR MARRIAGE GOALS?
We want to continue to grow and evolve as our life changes and make a life of comfort and peace. We value our quality time together and want to always keep our friendship at the forefront of our relationship. Keeping an open line of communication and continuing to build good habits to allow us to grow as people and a couple is a big goal for us.
WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE AT BURDOC FARMS?
The experience was so easy. All our questions were easily answered, the staff were so helpful, and having the option to go indoors and still have a beautiful venue was a plus!
WHAT DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST AT BURDOC FARMS?
So many things – the views, the location, and the swans were beautiful. I think one of our favorite small touches had to be the Kentucky Derby glasses and the love of Kentucky you see in the bar area. We recently moved to Southern Indiana for our jobs but Kentucky will always be home. We loved that the venue included a piece of our home state in a unique way!
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT ON THE DAY OF YOUR WEDDING?
The day Friday before our wedding was absolutely beautiful. Sunshine and 70 degree weather in November! We hoped we would get the same weather the next day but the radar didn’t look like it would happen. On the day of our wedding, we woke up to an absolute downpour with high winds. We had to go with the back up plan and convert the wedding indoors and as much as we wanted to be sad about it, we couldn’t control the weather and it wasn’t worth being upset about. All Jessica had hoped for is that we would get 20 minutes of sunshine for pictures. About a half hour before our first look, it stopped raining but still has sprinkles in between but we worked through it. We had the most beautiful wedding inside Burdoc and right after the ceremony, we got our 20 minutes of sunshine before the sunset and had the best golden hour photos. It was everything we could’ve asked for and made our afternoon.
The most memorable moment for Dylan was our individual vows to each other and our vows that we kept as a surprise until the ceremony for our daughter, Ava. It was a moment that we value you so much.
WHAT GENERAL ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A COUPLE THAT IS PLANNING THEIR WEDDING NOW THAT YOU CAN LOOK BACK ON YOUR OWN?
Pick great vendors! You truly get what you pay for. Our vendors allowed us to have the most seamless (to our knowledge at least!) day and our vision of a Tuscan garden has come to life. We truly had such a stress-free day and I attribute that to them. Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s so easy to get distracted but ultimately, the day is about the commitment you’re making to each other, so enjoy it!
