Our Tobacco Barn was built in 1952 and, for over half a century, served the Shepherd family’s cattle and tobacco operations. When these operations came to a close, our family carefully restored the barn, recycling original materials to preserve its character. The result is a venue that wears its history: soaring wooden beams, rich patina, and farm-built craftsmanship that new construction cannot fake. As the light fades, the barn shifts. Edison bulbs strung across the rafters come up warm against the dark wood, and seven antique crystal chandeliers hang the length of the space, catching the light overhead. The walls are the original cured-tobacco boards, weathered to a deep gray-brown, and the ceiling climbs high into the old timber framework. A bar runs along one side for cocktails and toasts, and an adjoining suite gives your wedding party a place to get ready on-site.

Later, the celebration moves outdoors. The 150-year-old stone fireplace anchors the patio, and couples often set up s’mores there once the dancing starts to wind down. Beyond the barn, 700 acres of fields and tree lines open up in every direction — offering endless backdrops for photography to capture each moment.

A tobacco barn venue rewards a little styling. Long farm tables down the center of the barn echo its agricultural roots and make room for family-style dining.
